Architura started in 2004 as a boutique design studio founded by designer Edward Eible and architect Richard G. Allen. They lead a hand-picked team of top professionals, including designers, engineers, project managers, craftspeople, and specialty contractors. This combined expertise spans every phase of architectural creation from initial concept to final execution. That whole-systems approach makes the process as stress-free as possible for our clients.
You dream it; we make it happen. Architura offers comprehensive design + build services for residential and commercial clients across the region. Just give us a sketch on a napkin and we’ll turn it into brilliant reality. Our projects include multifamily, custom residential, investment residential, premium renovations, and a host of commercial, industrial and non-profit structures.
We always start by understanding each client’s specific vision. How do we know what that is? You tell us what you want—and we listen. We begin with general questions: What’s your favorite aesthetic vocabulary? What function will fit your lifestyle? What’s your available budget? This leads to a detailed analysis of your tastes and needs, sustainability goals, and the constraints of budget and site. From here, we offer multiple solutions and continue to refine the concept until we’ve captured your dream. When the concept delights you, we know we’ve succeeded.
We close the circle on design and execution. Architura’s unique design + build approach encompasses consultation, design, construction, engineering, and project management. Along with providing cutting-edge architectural design and meticulous craftsmanship, we can also conduct feasibility studies, and establish realistic goals with tradespeople and sub-contractors. Each phase of the process is vital; each professional is at the top of their field. We make sure there are no weak links in the chain.
Yes, our process is exacting. But the successful results are worth it. At Architura, that means bringing your unique vision to life. Each project is a highly personal reflection of each client’s lifestyle and values. It’s your dream, not ours. And it’s our job to get it right.
Edward co-founded Architura with Richard G. Allen in 2004. As president of the firm, he works closely with each Architura client, ensuring that projects are on time and completed with minimal modifications. Edward grew up in the building and architectural design trade, working for his family’s construction company every summer. By the age of 16, he was a self-taught architectural draftsman and designed his first house at 17. This background—and more than 35 subsequent years in the design and construction field—gives Edward the expertise to oversee architects, designers, contractors, construction teams—and every person involved at every stage of a design-bid-build project. When Edward is involved, clients are assured that everything goes according to plan. Since 2004, he has successfully completed more than 500 residential and commercial projects. Edward also serves as the firm’s community liaison. He has offered his services pro bono to coordinate and plan a multi-phase renovation to Senior Friendship’s Care Giving Center in Sarasota, Florida.
Edward studied interior design at Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, and then transferred to the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, where he majored in environmental design. Edward worked for Walt Disney Films and consulted for several naval architectural firms. He also served as an adjunct professor at Ringling College. When he is not in the office, you’ll find Edward on the tennis court or on a boat drifting on the bay.
Richard G. Allen is celebrated for his innovative and functional designs. Over the past three decades, he has made a name for himself as a visionary architect who brings fresh insights and smart solutions that embody economy, aesthetics, and sustainable design principles to every project. Richard’s architectural portfolio spans a broad range of programs, including apartment buildings, residences, and commercial projects. Educational architecture has been a major focus. Richard has designed hundreds of schools—with an emphasis on elementary schools—throughout North Carolina, Texas, Florida, and other states. These projects include both new schools and renovations of existing schools. Richard graduated with a Bachelor’s in Architecture from the University of Florida and has professional registration in Florida and North Carolina. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and National Council of Architectural Registration boards.
Maridalia Cedeno has been an integral part of the Architura team since 2016. She’s worked with a host of building types, including commercial, multi-family, custom residential, and renovations. Maridalia takes a whole-system approach and is deeply involved with every phase of the design process, including conduct site planning, conceptual design, construction documentation, and construction coordination. She’s adept at client presentations and communication and creates and coordinates visual assets for marketing projects with both 2-D and 3-D graphics.
Maridalia was born in Cuba before relocating to Florida. She graduated with a Bachelor of Design in Architecture from the University of Florida in 2013 and received her Master of Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis in 2016. She is currently taking the Architect Registration Examination (ARE) to receive a State of Florida license. Maridalia’s passion for the arts is a vital influence on her creative role at Architura. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Rachael Eible’s role at Architura is multifaceted. She enjoys a dynamic relationship with every aspect of the firm—and it’s all about turning vision into reality. Rachael oversees and allocates resources for design projects; serves as a liaison between clients, engineers, building departments, and designers; coordinates and designs project proposals, and tracks and manages project cost and efficiency at every phase.
As president and founder of Architura’s sister company, ARC Development & Project Management, a licensed construction firm which provides permit administration and construction management, Rachael serves as the construction project manager. Her responsibilities include overseeing costs, managing subcontractors and employees, gathering permits, and ensuring all aspects of the project are up to code. Rachael works closely with engineers and architects to develop plans, establish timetables, and determine labor and material costs. Rachael graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Fine Arts and Graphic Design. If Rachael isn’t at the office or on site, she is either with her family or on the beach enjoying the sun.
At the young age of 23, Sherin Burgemeister already has years of work experience and a record of achievement in management and business. Before accepting the position of ARC’s project manager and coordinator, she had managed a popular restaurant and served as a car dealership’s business administrator. While working for an architectural firm might sound like she’s turning a new page, Sherin says her new responsibilities draw on the knowledge and expertise she gained from her previous jobs. “It all comes down to three main qualities,” she says. “Patience, diplomacy and creative problem-solving. Oh—and lots of double- and triple-checking.” In her role at ARC, Sherin coordinates subcontractor schedules and client meetings and oversees supply ordering. As she thrives on person-to-person connections, she also happily works with customer service.
Born and raised in Germany, Sherin moved with her family to the United States when she was 13, andshe received her associates degree in business after high school. She credits her interest in architecture and home-building to her father, who custom-built many of her family’s homes. Sherin and her husband Daniel enjoy working on their house, playing pickleball, dining at good restaurants, and playing with their French bulldog, Ella. The couple’s first encounter sounds like a Hollywood movie. “Daniel and I met in a four-car pile-up,” she says. “Our cars were totaled but no one was hurt. We ended up going for coffee and breakfast, which turned into dinner. By 8 p.m., we knew we wanted to be together.”
Lisa Rydzinski brings a wide spectrum of talent, experience and expertise to her role as accounts manager for Architura and Arc Construction. A disabled Army veteran, Lisa spent 20 years as an executive in the healthcare industry. She next accepted a job as the financial manager for a regionally based corporation and was responsible for the financial oversight of four companies. She joined Architura because she wanted to work with a company that “fulfills life’s highest dreams. It’s so rewarding to be part of the process of bringing a client’s dream home to fruition.” At Architura, Lisa oversees the bookkeeping, vendor compliance, and proposal writing. She also navigates the complex permitting process that various projects demand. What’s Lisa’s secret sauce? “I’m tenacious,” she laughs. “I can’t be off by a penny—ever. Numbers don’t lie—everything has to be exact. Our clients and my team expect nothing less.”
Lisa met her husband Mike, a Sarasota native, in the Army. When their youngest daughter finished high school in Michigan, Lisa and Mike jumped into their new 5th wheel and are preparing for travelling the country when they retire. They share a passion for nature, fishing, and finding the next wild trail to hike. Lisa is also an accomplished wildlife photographer and lends her talents photographing Architura’s projects in process. She received her MBA at Baker College of Graduate Studies.
